PDX to LAX, Day 4

Day 4: Mostly driving today. Drove from SF to Monterey for lunch, and then down through Big Sur and San Luis Obispo. AMAZING view the entire way; words can hardly describe. Had dinner at Opal in Santa Barbara and then finally: four days and almost 1300 miles later, back home in Los Angeles. It's good to be back.

PDX to LAX, Day 2

Day 1 of road trip: Lake Oswego to Lincoln City, then down the coast through southern Oregon into Crescent City just across the California border. Lots of driving along the ocean, all of it beautiful. Only lame part was getting a bogus speeding ticket from a cop who I'm pretty sure was the cop in Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. You know, the one that asks Kumar what kind of name is that anyhow, five O's and two U's, etc. Translation: guy was a jerk.

Day 2 began with a stop through the redwoods. It's mind-blowing how huge (and old) these trees are. Took the dusty and unpaved Howland Hill Rd. through Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park and spent a bit of time exploring. Found a random creek way down the side of the road and taught my mom how to skip stones. (Sidenote: I'm pretty sure I could skip stones all day).

In the other photos: the Crescent City coastline, Mom picking some stones from the beach, and me drinking Supplication and Sanctification at Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa. I have no taste buds left.
